She let go on Friday evening the 27th of September. We, some of her children, relatives and friends gathered around her and escorted her to the mortuary at Agha Khan. Not before we had some few minutes to hug, talk and sing. I had promised to do her nails ( I always loved doing it) before, but it was never too late. I polished them and made her look beautiful.
We spent that night talking and laughing about her. On Sunday I left for Eldoret (home), as there were guests already coming and no one was available. I left Nairobi after we had all agreed on what to do next (we all had assignments to fulfill) and yeah! There was a lot to do.
I arrived and found Susan and My cousin Ruth (her mother) already setting up the place. I must say that Suzy, her mum, her friend Miriam, friends were a gift to us during that period. They were home everyday, helped whenever they could and always stood by us.
Anyway, that evening we had relatives visiting, mums sisters and step brothers. Mum has five sisters and had four brothers (who are all not with us anymore).
While still in Nairobi, we decided to have mama's funeral the coming Saturday, but the location was still a misery.............that's when it all started!
